  • A truly wonderful, thoughtful, restaurant and dining experience, and a meal I will be thinking about for a long, long while. There were many highlights, including the cabbages and scallops, the mushroom ravioli, squash Wellington (stunning presentation!), and the black sesame and Meyer lemon pre-desert.

  • Was here for dinner on a Monday night with my wife and her sister. Service was cordial and professional throughout the evening. Staff kept on a watchful eye on us all without being intrusive. Our sommelier was very knowledgeable about the various wines served with the pairing option. I appreciated the variety and rarity of some of the selections. The food was carefully prepared and the presentation was lovely. As for the taste, I was not as appreciative, to be very candid. Perhaps I just don't have a sophisticated enough palette. But several items seemed to be lacking in either flavor or unity. The chickpea wafer was lovely to look at with the embedded flowers but it was bland and I couldn't figure out how to dip it into the tiny cup that held the amuse bouche. Later there was a crepe made from chestnut flour that in itself had very little flavor and was mostly a base for the rest of the dish. But why go to the trouble when a regular crepe would have served the same purpose (or maybe even better)? The menu was mostly vegetarian but there were two seafood courses. The monkfish came with a lovely red wine and fruit reduction in addition to a sesame or peanut based sauce, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, if you will, with the fish as the white bread. But the fish is the star and it was over powered by the peanut sauce. I appreciate the whimsical flair but I'd prefer something that meshed better flavor-wise. Lastly, I know this is a labor-intensive industry and these are all professionals working at the highest level but I'm a bit confused. When settling the bill there is a request for an additional gratuity. Have customs changed in Paris that an additional service charge is expected? If so, what is the proper percentage to add? In the U.S. the expectation is 20% and even a little higher for exceptional service. This is a known custom. But in Paris? Parisians I've spoken with say that tipping is not their culture. The cost of service should be included in the price. When spending €200-300 per person why not simply raise the price a bit to make certain staff are adequately compensated instead of leaving the guest confused about the correct amount to add?

  • Seriously stunning! Can tell everything put together with so much thought and care — it shows in the exceptional presentation and in how dang delicious everything was. My only regret is not being able to go back until I’m next in town because …just wow. Really special time and meal — I can’t wait to return

  • The most exciting meal I’ve had in a long time. The attention to detail from the objects on the table to the story behind the dishes is impeccable; everything here carries intention and authenticity. The service is exceedingly warm and informative while also putting you at ease. Every bite will transport you somewhere, letting your mind linger on the flavors long after the table has been cleared.

  • After some research, I chose Datil for its philosophy, working closely with local farmers, respecting the land, following a zero-waste mindset, and giving vegetables the main spotlight. The five-course lunch was calm, intentional, and beautifully detailed. From the cucumber & herb infusion with shiso tempura to the pear & radish, the potato pasta with crab consommé and oyster in tomato water, the full-corn dessert, and finally the tanghulu grape in shiso — every plate felt balanced and quietly expressive. I also loved the choice of plates, textures, and materials, everything felt connected to their values and handled with care. A restaurant that doesn’t shout to impress, but speaks softly with purpose.

  • Thoughtful flavour combinations and use of vegetables. Every dish was also beautifully presented. The wine pairings were excellent and seemed to bring out the best in both the dish and the wine. The hospitality was also excellent, warm and attentive.
